East Lothian Toun Cryer magazine was launched in 2005 by Lynn Stewart, a young mum and former marketing professional who realised it had the potential to grow and become a popular advertising vehicle for businesses throughout East Lothian. Seven  years later – still retaining the popular A5 size  - it is now the largest free magazine in the region. 20,000 copies of  Toun Cryer  are distributed  door to door throughout East Lothian every eight weeks .

Toun Cryer  offers readers articles and news on a variety of topics, including walking, weekend breaks, history, motoring, fashion, health, beauty, food , art, interiors, travel, local businesses and  community events presented in a glossy, high quality format.

The  A5 size  magazine  bucks the trend of other local, free publications:  with high quality editorial and advertising as well as a very targeted distribution of 20,000 copies  each edition.

December sees the launch of the  exciting new  Scottish Borders Toun Cryer, based on the successful format of it's sister publication.

The website (www.touncryer.co.uk) has been updated and improved to provide East Lothian and  the new Scottish Borders population with an interesting and user-friendly source of local news, weather,   business information, recipes, places to eat and details of forthcoming events taking place in the region. Better still, it’s an interactive website – if you know of, or are organising an event you would like people to know about, call or email and it will be listed on the website .

The website also includes a free  Trades Directory  please e mail your details .

As most people prefer to support local organisations and business whenever possible, this is an ideal advertising platform for local companies. It’s also an invaluable reference for homeowners that makes light work of sourcing specialist services, tradesmen, hotels and restaurants, visitor attractions etc.

Lynn and her team are always happy to discuss any issues regarding advertising, editorial features, local news and events, trade listings and more. The motto now is: If it’s going on it should be going in!
