Pure Magic

Vita Coco Coconut Water has become something of a cult drink of late, resulting in some shops selling out so fast they have had to resort to waiting lists. The reason for the brand’s popularity is its one and only ingredient – fresh 100 per cent pure coconut water from young green coconuts, which has 14 times more naturally occurring electrolytes than leading sports drinks – and more potassium than two bananas. It’s also great tasting, low calorie and fat free, making it an all-round winner for great nutrition and natural hydration. Available in three sizes from supermarkets and health stores and in fruit flavoured varieties as well as natural, a 330ml carton costs £1.49. For more information visit www.vitacoco.com

Take a Break

Yoga tips to help you re-energize and refocus without leaving your work desk

• Take a deep breath. Your breath is a relaxation tool that’s available anytime, anywhere. Close your eyes and focus as you take 10 slow, deep breaths in and out through the nostrils allowing your tummy to gently inflate and deflate as opposed to your chest – the way a baby naturally breathes. This alone will make you feel calmer, more centred and more focussed.

• Pamper your peepers. If you work with computers, detailed documents or figures that strain your eyes, take regular breaks from intense concentration by looking at a distant object every now and then. Withdrawing from your senses is even better as closing your eyes creates a deep sense of peace. Rub your hands together and cup them over closed eyes for a few minutes. Surrender to the moment and your eyes – and your mind – will thank you.
