Brunton Theatre’s new season begins on Friday 22 January with the critically acclaimed A Wee Home From Home, currently on a tour of Scotland, supported by Scottish Arts Council.

Returning to Glasgow, Frankie knocks on a door to find no one home. With time on his hands he wanders the streets of his past and is swept up in the ensuing explosion of memories and emotions. Twenty-one years after the show played to full houses and immense public acclaim, plan B have reunited the original creative team behind A Wee Home From Home to bring the production to a new generation. Performed by Michael Marra and award winning choreographer Frank McConnell who use an eclectic mix of raw live music, inspired, highly physical choreography and powerful theatricality, A Wee Home From Home exposes Scotland to its own wounds but also its vibrant and indomitable spirit. It’s a show steeped in pathos, menace but with a huge dose of humour! The show features one of Marra’s best-known songs, Mother Glasgow, which was written specifically for the show and has been covered by different artists over the years including Hue and Cry and Eddi Reader.

Also performing this January is Scottish favourite Alastair McDonald with a special Burns night supper followed by a performance of stories and songs, and Rumba Caliente, one of the UK’s leading salsa groups led by Edinburgh based musician Tobey Shippey and featuring guest trombonist Joe de Jesus from New York.

Tickets are on sale now from Brunton Theatre Box Office on 0131 665 2240 or online at www.bruntontheatre.co.uk
