Award winning double act The Black Sheep open their UK tour at Brunton Theatre this February with an evening of lies, damn lies and silly Whigs in The Joy of Politics.

If you love Yes Minister, The New Statesman and The Now Show, then you’ll love The Joy of Politics – an irreverent romp through the corridors of power and the cul-de-sacs of Quango. From the Magna Carta to this morning’s headlines, The Joy of Politics pledges to deliver a manifesto of mirth that’s guaranteed to bring down the house, updated daily with topical jokes and satirical sketches.

The Black Sheep are award winning double act Andrew Jones and Cieran Murtagh, the BBC Radio 4 writers and creative team behind The Joy of Wine, I, Lear and Entertainium. The Black Sheep were formed in 2002 when Andrew and Cieran met at the Central School of Speech and Drama, and have since created and toured innovative comedy shows around the UK and Europe. They have performed in lifts, planes, public toilets as well as in theatres across the UK including four critically acclaimed runs in London’s West End. They have written for the BBC, Foundation TV and Ragdoll Productions, and have appeared together on BBC 1’s The Slammer, BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Go For It, BBC Radio 1’s The Milk Run, BBC Radio 7’s Big Toe and on various local radio stations across the UK.

The Joy of Politics will be at Brunton Theatre on Monday 8 February. Tickets are £10.50 (£8.50), £6 under 18s and are available now from Brunton Theatre Box Office on 0131 665 2240 or online at www.bruntontheatre.co.uk
