Widely regarded as one of the finest singer-songwriters and live performers around, ex Love and Money frontman James Grant will play an intimate acoustic gig at Brunton Theatre this March as part of a Scottish tour.

James Grant’s career began in the ‘80s when he formed the band Friends Again with Chris Thompson. Although short lived, their influence was huge, helping to define the emerging sound of the Scottish bands that followed them.

It was with Love and Money that James Grant found more widespread recognition. They produced four hit albums and several hit singles, silver discs in the UK and a worldwide following that helped cement his reputation as a fine singer-songwriter. In 1996 he contributed four songs to the solo album of Capercaillie vocalist Karen Matheson, including the title track ‘The Dreaming Sea’. He has since written extensively for all of Karen’s solo albums and continues to work in her band. Working with musician and producer Donald Shaw, James Grant released his solo debut Sawdust In My Veins in 1998, followed by My Thrawn Glory, I Shot the Albatross and Holy Love. James will perform songs from his fifth solo album, Strange Flowers, on tour this spring.

James Grant will be at Brunton Theatre on Thursday 11 March. Tickets are £14.50 (£12.50) and are available now from Brunton Theatre Box Office on 0131 665 2240 or online at www.bruntontheatre.co.uk
