Is your health professional registered?

 

The Health Professions Council (HPC) regulate health professionals in the UK and were set up to protect the public. HPC only register professionals who meet the HPC standards for their training, professional skills and behaviour. HPC can take action against health professionals who fall below these standards. HPC can also prosecute those who pretend to be registered.

 

Health professionals must be registered so you can be sure;

 

  • they are genuine

 

  • they meet national standards; and

 

  • you are protected

 

Here is a list of the professions that the HPC regulate;

Arts therapists
Biomedical scientists
Chiropodists / podiatrists
Clinical scientists
Dietitians
Hearing aid dispensers
Occupational therapists
Operating department practitioners
Orthoptists
Paramedics
Physiotherapists
Practitioner psychologists
Prosthetists / orthotists
Radiographers
Speech and language therapists
