Friday 26 August 7.30pm The formidable flamenco-jazz guitar virtuoso, Eduardo Niebla, will perform at Musselburgh’s Brunton Theatre on Friday 26 August as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A master of today’s generation, Niebla is technically superb, poignantly poetic, and supernaturally talented. Inspired by tours to India, the Middle East, and his adopted Yorkshire homeland, Eduardo presents his new album My Gypsy Waltz together with music from his acclaimed 30 year career – intricately brilliant, passionate flamenco infused with a myriad of Eastern colours and a Gypsy-jazz edge. Brilliantly accompanied by his trio, this is an amazing opportunity to hear world-class guitar playing at its very best. Eduardo’s impressive list of collaborations includes five albums with Antonio Forcione, and work with Nishat Khan (sitar), Lol Coxhill (sax), Palestinian oud player Adel Salameh, electronic global phenomenon Juno Reactor and pop musicians George Michael and Craig David. Throughout the years he has also written music for films, documentaries and plays, including for the BBC, and worked with poets Fran Landesman and Mike Horovitz, and recent commissions include music for a 3D film for the Yorkshire planetarium with poetry by Ian McMillan.
